Under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) I am required by law to ensure you are aware of how I store, use and keep personal information that pertains to you.

I am required to obtain your consent to the way I process and store that information.

I am committed to maintaining your confidentiality and am bound by a professional code of ethics that ensures I work within its framework.

Following your initial enquiry, I will use the information you provide via my website or mobile phone to contact you and discuss your requirements.

If you make an appointment for a diagnostic consultation, you will be asked to complete paperwork including your personal details. I will also ask you for your preferred contact details together with information relevant to your therapy.

Your personal details are stored in a secure lockable cabinet that only I have access to. None of your personal information is stored on my computer or phone.

I will ask for your G.P. details because I may have reason to contact your G.P. either before or during therapy. You will be informed if I need to do this and contact will only be made with your consent and because I have a duty of care to ensure your emotional and well-being is being met.

Any information your share with me will remain confidential unless any of the following applies;

If I become aware of a significant risk of harm to you or another person.

If I become aware of a risk of harm to a minor under the age of 18 years.

If I become aware of a criminal offence involving drug trafficking, terrorism or another serious crime.

In these circumstances, it is a legal requirement that I report the matter to the relevant authorities.

I am required by law to retain any information on paper for 7 years. Again, this is stored in a secure lockable cabinet that only I have access to and after 7 years it will be responsibly disposed of.
